A Robotic Space

The space presented strives to create various functionalities in a small 60 square meter apartment. This apartment is specifically geared toward supplying the work space and home for 3 young entrepreneurs starting a high tech company.

Although this goal seems impossible in 60 square meters, using an adoptable and ever changing model instead of rooms can provide a solution. In this new system the functions are divided into capsules that are mobile and move around like bumper cars. Every time these cars shift positions they change the use of the space.

The bumper cars work differently depending where they face and what function is needed at the time.

My project features a capsule system instead of walls and rooms. These capsules shift from position to position changing the functionalities of the room.

The overhead grid limits and defines the movement of the capsules by using a machine that moves them around like bumper cars.
